CIC's parent company, Capital Refractories Limited (CRL), is one of the largest independent refractory and industrial ceramics companies in the UK. CRL has been manufacturing, supplying and installing high quality refractory ceramic and refractory products to metal melters for over 50 years. Capital provides a wide range of bespoke ceramic and refractory products such as iso-pressed and cast crucibles for investment casters, along with nozzles, tubes and ladles as well as dry rammed induction furnace linings to aerospace, medical, automotive and other industries.

relationships with customers, working alongside them to achieve their
specific and often complex requirements. 
CIC are currently undergoing the accreditation process for the AS9100 aerospace quality management standard with our final external accreditation audit due by March 2009. AS 9100 is the first aerospace global set of standards that meets the requirements of aerospace companies worldwide which was established with the purpose of achieving significant improvements in quality and reductions in cost throughout the value stream.
Amongst other products, we manufacture 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th stage blades and vanes for end-users Siemens, Alstom, GE and Ansaldo. Our direct customers include PCC Group, Doncasters Group, Esco Group, EMA, Wood Group, Precicast, Microsteel and Turbine Castings.
CIC's world class facilities (over 2,000 sqm) incorporate die storage, QC laboratory, mixing, injection, firing, inspection, finishing, CMM, coating, strengthening, wax preparation, packing and shipping. CIC currently employs 50 staff with additional QA, QC, technical, site engineering, commercial and administrative support from Capital's international headquarters.
